BIBL401: The Book of Revelation

Course Description
This course offers a comprehensive, exegetical study of the Book of Revelation. Students will learn to navigate the unique challenges of apocalyptic literature, focusing on the historical, literary, and theological contexts of this final book of the New Testament. We will explore the symbols, visions, and prophetic messages to understand its core themes: the sovereignty of God, the victory of Christ, the judgment of evil, and the promise of a new creation. The goal is to move beyond mere speculation and develop a clear, biblically grounded interpretation that strengthens our faith and hope in Christ.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Identify the key literary features of apocalyptic literature and apply them to the study of Revelation.
  • Articulate the historical context of Revelation, including its authorship, audience, and purpose.
  • Interpret the major visions and symbols within the book from multiple theological perspectives.
  • Trace the narrative from Christ's victory to the establishment of the New Heaven and New Earth.

  • The Book of Revelation Unlocking Future Events by Edward Hinson
